Trouble type– C2257: Cleaning brush motor failure to turn

– C2258: Cleaning brush motor turning at abnormal timing

Trouble detection conditionC2257: The motor lock signal remains HIGH for a predetermined continuous period of time while the motor is turning.
C2258: The motor lock signal remains LOW for a predetermined continuous period of time while the motor is stopping.
Trouble isolation–
Relevant electrical parts– Transfer belt unit (cleaner unit)
– Cleaning brush motor (M38)
– CPU board (CPUB)
– Base board (BASEB)

Procedure

  1. Check the connector between M38-BASEB CN21E for proper connection and correct as necessary.
  2. Check the connector of M38 for proper drive coupling and correct as necessary.
  3. Check the transfer belt unit cleaner unit gear for proper rotation. Correct as necessary.
  4. Check CPUB for proper installation and correct as necessary.
  5. M38 load check
    • Check code: 47
    • Multi code: 1, 2, 3, 4
    • Control signal: BASEB CN21E-1 to 7
    • Location of electrical component: 10-K
  6. Replace M38.
  7. Replace the transfer belt unit.
  8. Replace CPUB.
  9. BASEB F5E conduction check.
  10. Replace BASEB.
