Trouble detection conditionThe fan lock signal remains Low for a predetermined continuous period of time while the fan is turning.
Trouble isolation–
Relevant electrical parts– Fusing edge cooling fan/4 (FM31)
– Paper feed/transport drive board (PFTDB)
– CPU board (CPUB)
– Base board (BASEB)

Procedure

  1. Check the connector between FM31-relay CN834-relay CN166B-PFTDB CN31 for proper connection and correct as necessary.
  2. Check the fan for possible overload and correct as necessary.
  3. Check CPUB for proper installation and correct as necessary.
  4. FM31 load check
    • Check code: 42
    • Multi code: 29
    • Control signal: PFTDB CN31-10 (REM), PFTDB CN31-11 (LOCK)
    • Location of electrical component: 5-P
  5. Replace FM31.
  6. PFTDB F22 conduction check.
  7. Replace PFTDB.
  8. Replace CPUB.
  9. Replace BASEB.
