Trouble isolation–
Relevant electrical parts– Tray 1 paper feed clutch (CL1)
– Tray 2 paper feed clutch (CL2)
– Tray 3 paper feed clutch (CL5)
– Tray 3 transport clutch (CL6)
– Horizontal transport clutch (CL3)
– Tray 4 paper feed clutch (CL7)
– Tray 3 lift-up motor (M23)
– Tray 4 lift-up motor (M24)
– Paper feed/transport drive board (PFTDB)

Procedure

  1. PFTDB F23 conduction check.
  2. Check the connector between CL1-relay CN151-relay CN145B-PFTDB CN14 for proper connection and correct as necessary.
  3. Check the connector between CL2-relay CN156-relay CN155A-PFTDB CN12 for proper connection and correct as necessary.
  4. Check the connector between CL5-relay CN985-relay CN118-relay CN113A-PFTDB CN16 for proper connection and correct as necessary.
  5. Check the connector between CL6-relay CN119-relay CN193-relay CN113B-PFTDB CN17 for proper connection and correct as necessary.
  6. Check the connector between CL3-relay CN131-relay CN143-PFTDB CN15 for proper connection and correct as necessary.
  7. Check the connector between CL7-relay CN986-relay CN123-relay CN121A-PFTDB CN18 for proper connection and correct as necessary.
  8. Check the connector between M23-PFTDB CN15 for proper connection and correct as necessary.
  9. Check the connector between M24-PFTDB CN15 for proper connection and correct as necessary.
  10. CL1 load check
    • Check code: 20
    • Multi code: 1
    • Control signal: PFTDB CN14-14, 15
    • Location of electrical component: 13-P
  11. Replace CL1.
  12. CL2 load check
    • Check code: 20
    • Multi code: 2
    • Control signal: PFTDB CN12-1, 2
    • Location of electrical component: 1-P
  13. Replace CL2.
  14. CL5 load check
    • Check code: 20
    • Multi code: 3
    • Control signal: PFTDB CN16-5, 6
    • Location of electrical component: 5-X
  15. Replace CL5.
